Occupational health advisers
CBT-First
Our psychologists and business psychologists provide support to companies focusing on employment related, organisational and non-work issues. We provide a complementary service with shared values and shared goals.

Our consultants have a wide range of expertise in occupational and psychological health and wellbeing. We support various clients including national and multinational companies, borough councils and small to medium business.

We have a range of preventative and reactive services which will improve productivity, boost morale and effectively manage your mental health and wellbeing issues, such as:

Case management, and rehabilitation back to work

CBT-First provides expert case management through the inclusion of CBT principles in rehabilitation, and with focus on a "biopsychosocial model" of health and wellbeing.  The biopsychosocial model considers the interaction between mental health, work, and the social environment. We work with other professionals  including Occupational Health Physicians, HR Services and Occupational Health, to ensure people return to work as soon as appropriate.

Promoting psychological wellbeing at work

We help to promote the employers' commitment to psychological and social wellbeing in preventing and minimising (mental) ill health and enhancing productivity. We can help company employers by supporting employees with work and non-work related problems, empowering employees to be more effective at work and enabling those who have been absent to get back to work quickly. Our role is to help you promote a positive impact on workplace performance. We are committed to evidence based practice and provide regular written and verbal feedback to referrers. Close working relationships with contacts ensure close monitoring of needs and enhanced service delivery.

Employee resolution

We can help with disciplinary disputes, harassment, unfair dismissal/redundancy, work-induced stress, and other employee issues including backing up assessments for suitability or necessity for redeployment or early retirement and risk assessments.

Reducing sickness absence

Benefits of early psychological/psychiatric help for employees include less time off-sick, shorter  rehabilitation times, less chance of escalation of symptoms, identification of contributing factors and therefore prevention and likelihood of recurrence.

Occupational health services

We work with your Occupational Health Department or Human Resources Team (in-house or outsourced). We can assist Occupational Health providers in helping their company clients to fulfill their health and safety obligations in relation to potential work place hazards. We also support Occupational Health providers and departments tackle sickness absence, stress, anxiety and workplace disagreements.
